Join the San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust’s “Youth Parkway Ambassadors” for a Free Open House event at Millerton Lake! Bring your family and participate in any of our free events presented by high school youth leaders:
Date/Time: Saturday, April 11th – 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Location: Millerton Lake State Recreation Area - Madera Entrance off Hwy 145 - 288J+X8, Friant, CA 93626 - Meadows Day Use Area - Click here for Google Map Link
- Once you pass the entrance booth follow the road until the very end passing the camp sites and you will have arrived at Meadows Day Use Area parking lot.
- Entrance fee will be waived for event participants. Please let the host at the booth know you are attending the open house event.
Free Lunch will be provided. Registration required.
Open House Schedule of Events:
- Canoeing: 10:00 am – 1:30 pm; Please Register below
- Canoes are 2-person boats. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in the canoe. No children under the age of 4 may participate in canoeing. Maximum of 3 people per boat (2 adults and 1 child, or 1 adult and 2 children). All participants must have a completed liability form signed by a parent or guardian. Liability forms will be provided at the event.
- Fishing: 10:00am - 2:00pm; Anyone 16 years and over is required to have a CA fishing license. 15 years and younger do not need a fishing license.
- Arts & Crafts: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
- Other family educational avtivities:
- Leave No Trace game
- Mindfulness session
- Fire safety basics
Canoeing and Lunch will not be guaranteed without a registration. All other activities are open to the public and do not need registrations.
Parents are required to stay on-site and with youth participants for the duration of the Open House.
