Join the San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust’s “Youth Parkway Ambassadors” for a Free Open House event at Sycamore Island! Bring your family and participate in any of our free events presented by high school youth leaders:
Location: Sycamore Island - 39664 Ave 7 1/2 Madera, CA 93636
- Parking fee will be waived. Once on site follow the signs to the event.
Date/Time: Saturday, May 3rd – 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Light Snacks will be provided.
Open House Schedule of Events:
- Canoeing: 10:30 am – 1:00 pm; Please Register below
- Canoes are 2-person boats. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in the canoe. No children under the age of 4 may participate in canoeing. Maximum of 3 people per boat (2 adults and 1 child, or 1 adult and 2 children). All participants must have a completed liability form signed by a parent or guardian. Liability forms will be provided at the event.
- Scavenger Hunt: 10:00 am - 2:00pm
- Scavenger hunt takes roughly an hour to complete
- Last groups will go out at 1:00pm
- Face painting: 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
- Clay Impressions: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Canoeing will not be guaranteed without a registration. All other activities are open to the public and do not need registrations.
Parents are required to stay on-site and with youth participants for the duration of the Open House.
